Beginner Basics / Computer Survival Skills 101
This is the most popular multi-session course. The student is introduced to the Windows operating system and fundamentals of his computer, Microsoft Word for Word Processing, and the Internet—E-mail, Websites and Search Engines. No prior computer experience is assumed.
Other courses include Introduction to Word and Windows for Business, Excel I, Access I and Email & Internet.
Do it Your Way
Daphne will teach you as much as you desire or just enough to cross off a to-do from your list. For example, you may want instruction to jumpstart a project, and then finish it on your own. The following are common requests:
- Set up an electronic address book
- Create a business newsletter with Constant Contact
- Create a customized personal holiday letter with pictures and graphics
- Send and receive e-mail attachments
- Edit digital pictures on your PC
- Create mailing labels
- Maintain your computer system for optimal performance
- Install Spyware / Virus Protection
- Add music to a PowerPoint presentation
- Modify an Excel spreadsheet
- Use PivotTables in Excel, or learn advanced functions such as VLOOKUP
- Design a tri-fold brochure in Publisher
- Burn a CD
- Backup computer files
